2007 season preview-

Lights

DEAN
CROOKE
The 2006 Club Champ and the brawn behind Hyper Racer fairly dominated the 06 season. Now with the field split into light and heavy for 07 he's aiming at the featherweights with a brand new chassis and engine. But he's not expecting an easy time of it...
BRAD
STEBBING
Most of the time Brad Stebbing has been in Rotax Max has been spent at the pointy end of the field. We expect nothing will change, especially now that he is sporting a new, Ferrari-red HyperMax Racer
SHAUN
TROUNSON
Shaun may have been a newcomer to superkarts but is no newcomer to speed, having quite a taste for fast minis. He may look like he'd be more at home on a surfboard but expect him to make a few waves on the track in his first full season.
Heavies
MARK
WICKS
The KartSportNews scribe is not just good with words. The 2004 World Rotax Masters Champion is taking on the Heavies in 2007 as Hyper Racer "factory" driver. Quiet and softly spoken off-track, but he can raise hell on it.
PATRICK
ATHERTON
That's me. Too heavy for lights, so up to Heavy. At least the new divisions will give me a chance to feature. I don't expect to be able to rattle a former World Champ in last year's championship kart, and there are several others difficult to crack, but I'll be trying to surprise myself.

The most significant challengers to the Hyper Invasion
starts with Rod Clark, the club president. Incredibly fast in a straight line, he can run close to the lights despite running in heavies. Likewise his teammate and sponsor Peter Howard. David Byrne has traditionally been solid.

In lights, the evergreen Peter Gazzolla, the Bey brothers, the ultrafit senior Jon Grant, and new guy Peter Strangis will be hard to beat.

Maybe I should stop complicating things. This is Formula Rotax- the closest racing in the country. There will be many surprises!
